POSITION
The Department of Economics, Management, and Quantitative Methods (DEMM) is seeking candidates for one positions of post doc Research Fellow in Economics (SECS-P/01).
Starting Gross Salary 23.000 € approximately per year. Only social security contributions are due. The net salary is therefore about 18,700 Euros per year.
Duration: 18 months
Starting date to be mutually agreed, up to December 31st 2020.
REQUIREMENTS
Degree in Economics or Statistics or Demography or Sociology or Political Science or equivalent, from an Italian or foreign university. A PhD in one of the above fields is desirable, but not required.
Expertise in research area: analysis of microdata, especially for social science research. Priority is given to those holding (or close to the completion of) a PhD in Economics/Econometrics/Statistics
Knowledge of language: Italian, English
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Candidates will participate in the research project “Teaching at the time of Covid19: Implications for university student performance”, coordinated by Prof. Massimilano Bratti together with Prof. Silvia Salini and prof. Matteo Turri. The project aims at estimating the causal impact of online teaching on student performance, using administrative data from the University of Milan and exploiting differences across courses/student cohorts that were (or will be) taught online vs. in presence owing to the Covid19 emergency.
The ideal candidate would be doing (or be interested in doing) research in education economics and an expert in working with microdata and in microeconometrics.
Candidates are also expected to collaborate to the activities of CEEDS, the Center of Excellence in Economics and Data Science (https://ceeds.unimi.it) at DEMM and to actively participate in departmental life and seminars. The fellowship does not involve any teaching.
