Postdoctoral research Fellow in Statistics

POSITION
The Department of Economics, Management, and Quantitative Methods (DEMM) is seeking candidates for one positions of post doc Research Fellow in Statistics.
Starting Gross Salary 23.000 € approximately per year. Only social security contributions are due. The net salary is therefore about 18,700 € per year.
Duration: 18 months
Starting date to be mutually agreed, up to December 31st 2020.
REQUIREMENTS
Degree in Statistics, Actuarial and Financial Statistics, Economics, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent, from an Italian or foreign university.
Expertise in research area: good knowledge of R and Python and statistical modeling, especially in the epidemiological field. Priority is given to those holding (or close to completion) of a PhD. A PhD in one of the above fields is desirable, but not required.
Knowledge of language: English
CANDIDATE PROFILE
We are looking for a post-doctoral fellow to join our research group in the area of epidemiological modelling of COVID-19 small-area contagion. The successful candidate will conduct research on collecting small-area COVID-19 related data both in Italy and Europe and on developing forecasting models. The ideal candidate should have a PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics or Computer Science.
Candidates are also expected to collaborate to the activities of CEEDS, the Center of Excellence in Economics and Data Science (https://ceeds.unimi.it) at DEMM and to actively participate in departmental life and seminars. The fellowship does not involve any teaching.
